SEA ROOTS WORKSHOPS

The SEAD Project presents SEA Roots: Language Workshops – Hmong, Khmer, Lao, and Viet language literacy workshops in 8 weeks; integrated with elements of culture and storytelling. Classes are led by a team of fluent and qualified Hmong, Khmer, Lao, and Viet instructors.

Spring 2020 Workshop Dates: Saturdays, March 7th-April 25th from 9:30-1:00 pm

Prerequisites:

SEA Roots: Language Workshops are open to students who are 16+ years old and/or have Hmong, Khmer, Lao and Viet heritage background in the language they are registering.* All fluency levels welcome.

*PLEASE NOTE: Hmong and Lao classes are open to the general public (anyone can take it). Khmer and Viet classes are pilot classes and are open to Khmer and Viet heritage students ONLY (only those who identify as having heritage).

Registration Fee: $200.00

The fee covers teachers’ time, coursebooks, resources, and in-class materials. To secure your place in class, please complete this form and send payment at the time of registration.

*Full or Partial Scholarships are available to need-based students, please email hi@theseadproject.org for more info. To apply for a scholarship, select Scholarship Request in the Payment Method section.

SEAD is committed to making our programs accessible and affordable. This is a form for language learners (students) who are interested in requesting a scholarship for The SEAD Project's SEA Roots: Language Workshops. The SEAD Project has limited scholarships available. Those who demonstrate their interest and commitment to learning the language and have extenuating circumstances that limit them from being able to afford the fee will be considered.



Please read below carefully on requirements and guidelines for scholarship recipients:
- Student cannot miss any classes, attendance is mandatory.
- Student must have satisfactory progress completing the class.



Students who are unable to satisfy above requirements and do not meet satisfactory completion of the program by their teacher must pay 100% of the scholarship amount to The SEAD Project. This ensures that the quality and integrity of the program is fair and equitable to better serve our communities and that scholarships are available to other need-based students.
